Today in the One Year Bible we read from Matthew 9:18-38. In two different events, Jesus tells people that they'll receive what they ask for because of their faith. And as we read the New Testament, we hear Jesus telling everyone they should have faith. Clearly faith is very important to Jesus. In fact, we're told in Hebrews that without faith it's impossible to please God.
So what do you do if your faith is weak? Fortunately there are things you can do to grow your faith. One is to ask God to grow it. He wants you to have greater faith, so we can say along with the father of a suffering child in the book of Mark, "I believe! Help me to believe better!" And He will.
Reading the Bible is another way to grow your faith. Along with reading other great books of the faith, like Story of a Soul by Therese of Liseux. Every time I read that book it changes me.
Finally, share your faith. Faith is one of the few things (like love) that you get more and more of the more you share it with other people.
God, thank you for giving us the gift of faith. Please help it to grow in us so we can please You.
