take God at His word

 In the One Year Bible today, we read these verses:

Ruth 2:1-4:22
John 4:43-54
Psalm 105:16-36
Proverbs 14:26-27

In John, we see a royal official who came to Jesus to ask Him to heal his son who was dying. Jesus said his son would live, and the official took Him at His word and went home, finding his son healed. 

Let's strive to be like that official. Let's take Jesus at His word. He says He loves us more than we can imagine. He says He has come to save us, not condemn us. He says to follow Him and find the abundant life. He says many more things in His word - the Bible. Read the Bible every day, and take Him at His word.

God, thanks for teaching us to take You at Your word.
