love one another

Today in the One Year Bible we read these verses:

2 SAMUEL 9:1-11:27
JOHN 15:1-27
PSALM 119:49-64
PROVERBS 16:1-3

In John, Jesus tells us that if we remain in Him, and He in us, we will do the things He calls us to do. And the greatest thing He calls us to do is love each other. 

Now let me remind you that loving people doesn't mean having warm feelings of love when you think of them or talk to them. That's a kind of love, but not the kind Jesus means here. He means loving each other as an action. Willing the good of the other person, and helping them to find that good. Sometimes we help them simply (but profoundly) by praying for them. Sometimes God allows us to be more hands on in loving them... meeting their needs or helping them achieve their goals.

How is God calling you to love those in your life today? 

God, thank You for putting Your love in our hearts... so that they overflow into love for everyone in our lives.
