fighting God

 

Today in the One Year Bible we read these verses:

1 Samuel 29:1-31:13
John 11:55-12:19
Psalm 118:1-18
Proverbs 15:24-26 

In John, we see the religious leaders trying very hard to find Jesus and kill Him. They don't realize they are fighting against God Himself. And of course we know that they WILL find Him and eventually kill Him. But God will use their actions in His perfect, beautiful plan and bring Jesus back to life, the first among many. 

Are you fighting against God? Do you know what He wants you to do in life but you're resisting Him? Either way, He will work what you're doing for good. But it will be much healthier and happier for you if you cooperate with Him instead of fighting Him. You will waste much less effort.

God, thanks for working everything we do for good. Help us to cooperate with Your will.
