sometimes we're not supposed to understand

Today we read from these verses in the One Year Bible:

Judges 9:22-10:18
Luke 24:13-53
Psalm 100:1-5
Proverbs 14:11-12

Let's check out Luke. Jesus appears to the two disciples walking on the Emmaus road, and they were KEPT FROM realizing it was Him. That's interesting, isn't it? God prevented them from knowing that it was Jesus.

There are times when we are prevented from understanding things. Some things we're just not ready for yet. Some things we need to grow a little more in our spiritual life before we can grasp them. Until then, we have to trust God and trust the church to know what is best. We see how wise they are in the matters we DO understand, and we need to apply that trust to the things we don't quite get yet.

But God will make it all clear in the end.

God, thanks for showing us that there are times when we aren't supposed to understand - and that we should trust You.
