the world today: One Year Bible Reading for November 15

Today we read these verses in the One Year Bible:

Ezekiel 31:1-32:32
Hebrews 12:14-29
Psalm 113:1-114:8
Proverbs 27:18-20

Let's look at Ezekiel. God is giving Ezekiel some prophecies regarding Egypt. And He's telling Pharaoh that Assyria was a great nation, very powerful and seemed to be invincible, but God took away its power. And then He says that He will take away Egypt's power, and He will take away Israel's power, too. When they stop being good nations, He removes their power.

We are seeing some very disturbing things in the US today. Billions, maybe even trillions, of dollars being sent to Ukraine, laundered, and sent back to us to make the wealthy even richer. If you haven't heard about FTX and the scandal, look it up. We are also seeing rampant and obvious voter fraud happening all over the country. A notable thinker who correctly predicted the 2008 crash also predicts that we won't have an election in 2024 and the US will cease to exist by 2032. Dire predictions.

In any case, whether that's true or not, we need to pray for our country and for our leaders. There are still some who are trying to do good, and attempting to enact legislation to protect the vulnerable and make the country a better place. Pray that the forces of darkness will weaken and the forces of good will be strengthened. When America ceases to be good, it will cease to be great (and in some ways it already is).

Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus.

God, thanks for letting us know that as dark as things might get, You still have everything under control.
