the voice of wisdom in a sea of information: One Year Bible Reading for November 18

Today we read from these verses in the One Year Bible:

Ezekiel 37:1-38:23
James 1:19-2:17
Psalm 117:1-2
Proverbs 28:1

Let's look at the proverb. Wisdom is calling out to you. Do you hear her voice?

Today we have NO LACK of information. We each carry a device on us that has access to pretty much all of the information we've collected thus far as a people. You can look up the definition of any word, learn more about any subject - the world is literally at your fingertips. And what do we do with it? Most of us ignore the wealth of wisdom and spend time playing games or watching funny videos. And there's nothing wrong with watching cat videos and playing games.

But try to spend some time learning. We have NO EXCUSE why we aren't learning something new every day. Did you know you can take free classes from MIT and Harvard online? Find something you're interested in and take advantage of the wealth of free wisdom and knowledge all around you.

If you're having trouble thinking of something to study, ask God to help you. He will. He gave you a mind for a reason, and He wants you to use it. Don't neglect the gift of intellect He's given you!

God, thanks for giving us such a great opportunity to learn. Help us make good use of it.
