pray for our leaders: One Year Bible Reading for September 30

Today we read from these verses in the One Year Bible:

Isaiah 60:1-62:5
Philippians 1:27-2:18
Psalm 72:1-20
Proverbs 24:11-12

Let's look at the psalm. The psalmist asks God to give the king His justice. To teach the king to be wise and just in the way he rules Israel.

Today we need to pray for our leaders, too. I'm not going to get political here. Whether you think Biden and Harris are doing a fantastic job or are the worst president and VP in history, they need our prayers. Whether you think they were actually ELECTED to their offices or were forced into those offices ignoring the will of the American people, they need our prayers. Whether Trump becomes our president again in 2024, or Biden gets elected for a second term... whoever the president is, they'll need our prayers.

You might not agree with them. You might even strongly dislike them. But pray for them, because they make decisions (or someone in charge does) that affect our lives and the whole world.

Pray for our leaders.

God, thanks for reminding us that we should pray for our leaders, even if we don't like them.
