Today we read from the following passages in the One Year Bible:
Genesis 46:1-47:31
Matthew 15:1-28
Psalm 19:1-14
Proverbs 4:14-19
And the verse that jumps out at me is from the Psalm. This is a beautiful passage in which the Psalmist tells us that the beauty of God's creation tells us how amazing He is, even without using speech or words. It was true when he wrote that. And it's increasingly true today!
Why increasingly, you may ask. Well, the more we study the universe and find other galaxies, and see the wonders of His creative beauty writ large in the sky, the more His creation sings His praises to us. The more we plunge into the depths of the oceans and see the amazing creatures down there, the more His creation tells us how awesome He is without using a single word. The more we explore the human brain and see how it surpasses any computer's processing speeds and abilities in orders of magnitude, the more we see His creativity on display. The more we take apart atoms and see how He keeps them swirling around one another in silent perfection every second of every day, the more reason we have to worship Him.
What will we find tomorrow that gives silent witness to His goodness?
God, thanks for being so amazing and giving us so many ways to remember that You are.
