St Martin of Tours: He did for the Least of These

Today we celebrate St Martin of Tours, who was a non Christian Roman soldier who gave half of his cloak (which he cut with his sword) to a poor beggar one day. That night he had a dream in which Jesus appeared to him and said that he'd given his cloak to Jesus, even though he wasn't a Christian. Martin then was baptized and did great works of service for the poor for the rest of his life. You can read more about him here.

Did you know you can do the same thing? When we help the poor, we are helping Jesus. He made it very clear that whatever we do for those who need help, we're doing for Him. What have you done for Him lately?

God, thanks for the great story about this Roman soldier. St Martin of Tours, pray for us.
