St Romuald: What The Enemy Intended to Harm Me

Today in the book In Caelo et in Terra, we read about St Romuald. In the picture above, it looks like he's saying, "Oh, brother."

And that's how he started his life. He was not at all interested in spiritual matters. But one day he saw his father kill a man in a duel, and it shook him deeply. He started taking his spiritual life seriously, and eventually became a hermit. He founded several monasteries. His rule was very simple, and surrounded his motto not to prefer ANYTHING over the love of Jesus. You can read more about him here. His rule also focused very strongly on praying the Bible, especially the psalms.

Is there room in your life for more prayer focused on the Bible?

God, thanks for the example of this holy hermit. St Romuald, pray for us.
