my brother's keeper

Today in the One Year Bible, we read from Ezekiel 29:1-30:26. God has some harsh words for Egypt because they did NOT support Israel when they asked for their help.

It's easy to get so caught up in our busy lives that we forget to take care of one another. Even when we have the BEST intentions of "being there" for those we care about, we get so caught up in our day to day activities that we later find out someone needed us and we weren't there. We feel terrible.

But God can remind us. God can prompt our hearts to reach out. There have been times when God will suddenly bring someone to my mind, without me even asking, and I know I need to pray for them and maybe reach out and see if they need help.

If you are anything like me, you NEED His help in remembering to reach out to others. Just ask Him, and He'll find a way to remind you. He's good at that.

God, thanks for caring about those we love, and for nudging us when we need to be reminded to take care of them.
