the true meaning of Jebus
Today we read from 1 Chronicles 11:1-12:18 in the One Year Bible. We read of a group of people from Jerusalem (which is also called Jebus) called the Jebusites. They taunt David and tell him he'll never enter Jerusalem, but he conquers Jerusalem and proves them wrong.
Unfortunately we live in a time when people are also taunting God. In mainstream media, in social media, in books, and in movies we see people thumbing their noses at God and making fun of people who believe in Him. We know from the Bible that God will not be mocked. But let's say a prayer for these people who use the word "Jebus" in a blasphemous way (making fun of Jesus), that they might find Him and know Him before it's too late for them.
God, thanks for the gift of Your son. Please help us to introduce Him, and You, to those who need Him so much.
