Today in the One Year Bible, we read from 2 Kings 18:13-19:37. One of the kings tells the people in the city that he's attacking to "choose life and not death!"
Seems like a simple choice, right? I mean, who in their right mind would choose death over life? But that choice is put before people every day, and what they decide doesn't always make sense.
Unfortunately, you and I have the choice daily, and we don't always choose wisely either. We are given the choice between spending time with God, which brings us life, or spending all of our time on selfish pleasures, which lead us away from God and into death.
Today when you face this decision, remember the picture above... and choose wisely.
God, thanks for helping us choose life over death.
