making God king

Today we read from Deuteronomy 33:1-29 in the One Year Bible. Moses tells the Israelites that God was made their king. And it might interest you that even today, in 2020, the King of Poland is Jesus. If you google "who is the king of Poland", google will tell you it's Jesus Christ.

You have the option, every day, of making Him king of your life, too. Unfortunately, we humans are fickle creatures. We decide to make Him king of our lives one day, but the next day we might decide that luxury or convenience or lust or gluttony are our king instead. It's so easy to replace Him as king.

But the good news is that it's not hard to get things fixed again. Just ask God to be your king again, today. Ask Him to show you what sins have crept in and edged Him out, and repent of them. And then ask Him what He, your King, would like you to do for Him today. You might be delighted what He tells you.

God, thanks for being our King. Time and again.

I will try this again. Funny how this came out yesterday, on St. Stanislaus's feast day. He was famous for he fought the Polish king of his day and the king killed him.
