just as He promised

Today in the One Year Bible, we read from Deuteronomy 31:1-32:27. Moses is giving the Israelites final instructions before they enter the promised land. And he tells them that everything will happen just as God promised.

We are now in the middle of holy week. This Sunday is Easter, and for many of us, this time is uncertain. Many of us are unemployed, and some of us are sick or have friends or relatives who are. We are all a little shaken, not knowing exactly what the future holds for our country or for the world.

But we DO know that God has promised us many things. He will never leave us or forsake us. He will be with us every day of our lives, and will give us wisdom when we ask for it. He will win over the forces of darkness in the end, and will lead all of us who trust in Him to eternal life. And every knee will bend, and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord.

So don't worry. Be anxious for nothing. Know that He's in control, and everything will happen, just as He said.

God, thanks for being in control, and for taking good care of us.
