Today in the One Year Bible, we continue to read about diseases and their treatments in the OT. We read this in Leviticus 14:1-57. And it may be wearisome to have another whole day devoted to diseases, but it's definitely not irrelevant.
It was just announced today that China has just had its 4th case of Bubonic plague recently. That's in addition to the Corona virus debacle, which has now killed several and infected many more in Italy. The WHO is beginning to give strong signs that the Corona virus might end up being a pandemic. Fortunately, it only kills a small percentage of those who contract it. But it looks like the whole world will be dealing with the infection soon. The cruise ship that has been held on quarantine for the last couple weeks now has over 628 cases of infection out of the 2,666 passengers and two deaths. That's a high percentage of infection.
All of that to say, let's be in prayer for the situation. Pray that the world will come to find God in this mess. That those who are sick will recover. For the families of those who die. For the repose of the souls of those who succumb. And that the whole affair will serve as a serious memento mori for the whole world.
God, thanks for giving us timely advice regarding disease. Guide us as we pray.
