Today in the One Year Bible, we read about astrology in Genesis 44:1-45:28. Joseph tells his brothers that he can "predict the future". And in the New Testament, the wise men read the stars and follow them to find where Jesus is born.
But we're told pretty clearly (like in the verse in the pic above) that we should not practice astrology. So what's the deal?
Well, the reason we shouldn't is because we're trying to figure out the future so we don't have to trust God. We want control over what happens. So we try to read the stars instead of trusting Him who made them.
God, help us to trust you instead of trying to take control over our future.
