Today in the One Year Bible, we read from Revelation 7:1-17. John tells us that Jesus will wipe away all of our tears. Think about what that means. Not that our pain becomes meaningless. Not that it wasn't real. It wasn't a dream. Our pain is real, and it matters to God.
He heals us. He comforts our sorrows. And He gives us such great joy that it makes us think, "My suffering was nothing compared to this!" The joy we will have will be so great that we will remember our pain as a drop compared to the joyful flood.
God thanks for the pain we feel now, that gets us ready for the joy You have in store for us.
