Today in the One Year Bible, we read from 2 Peter 1:1-21. Peter tells us that the prophets who gave us the Bible didn't speak from their own wisdom - God revealed to them what they then passed on to us.
Padre Pio said that when we find ourselves away from God, all we have to do is "reach out" and He will come to us. He will respond to our reaching. The prophets did that, too. They reached out to Him, and He took what they knew and imbued it with truth that they were not able to reason on their own.
It's also good to realize that we don't even reach out to Him on our own. Like Aslan tells us, we would not have called out to Him if He had not first called out to us. We reach out because He draws us to Him.
God, thanks for responding to us when we reach out. And thanks for giving us what we can't invent on our own.
