Today we read from 2 Corinthians 13:1-14 in the One Year Bible. Paul tells us to examine ourselves, to make sure our faith is sincere.

And that brings up an important principle. Our natural inclination is to judge other people harshly, and give ourselves the benefit of the doubt.

If we reverse that, our spiritual lives will be much healthier. Give others the benefit of the doubt. And hate your own sins with a passion.

God, thanks for showing us how examining ourselves helps us grow spiritually.
