how fast things can change

Today in the One Year Bible, we read from Revelation 6:1-17. And what we read is about things changing in a big way. The seals are broken and the whole world is changed. Justice comes, and people face judgment. It even talks about how the price of different food items changes so drastically that it boggles the mind.

And that can happen overnight, can't it? We get a great new job and our lives are suddenly much better. We get a bad report from the doctor and it seems that life is over. We meet that special someone and everything seems like it'll be great forever. Our child fails a test in school and it seems like their future is uncertain.

The thing to remember throughout all of these changes is that God never does. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. We can always trust Him. And He WILL WORK everything in your life for your good. He WILL. Don't be afraid. Trust Him. He will make it all work together for your good. If things are upside down right now, put your faith in God. Ask Him to help you see some of the ways He's working it out. And don't be afraid. He's got you.

God, thanks for always being there for us to trust, through all of life's changes.
