using what you have

Today in the One Year Bible, we see Paul use his Roman citizenship to his advantage in Acts 22:17-23:10. He gets himself out of a bind, and gains an audience for the gospel, simply because of where he was born.

God had given you gifts like this, too. He has equipped you to do the things He's calling you to do. He's not asking you to employ abilities that are beyond you. Not everyone can sing, and if you can't, then He's not asking you to become a singer. If you can't do math, He's not asking you to be an accountant. He wants you to use the gifts that He HAS given you to help other people.

Most of you reading this know what your gifts are. So just ask Him to help you find ways that you can use those gifts for His kingdom. But if you wonder what your gifts are, you might ask Him to show you. And the listen - usually He'll let you know through other people. When you hear several people tell you you're good at something - whatever it is - ask God to help you find how you can use it for His kingdom.

And then you'll find great joy and satisfaction, because using the gifts He's given us to do His will is very satisfying!

God, thank You for giving us gifts. Please help us use them for You.
