Today in our reading from the One Year Bible, we read from Acts 4:1-37. In it, Peter says that the nations rage against God. Seems foolish, doesn't it? Do they really think they can beat God?
But we see that today, too, don't we? We see the nations raging against Him. Fighting against morality and truth. Trying to force those with genuine faith to conform to their will. Being extremely intolerant of anyone who disagrees with the PC view. The nations continue to rage.
However, we aren't called to fight against men. We don't wrestle with flesh and blood, but with the spirits of the age. We fight against the enemy, who stirs up the world against us. And the way we fight is by loving our enemy. We destroy our enemies by making them our friends.
Let's pray that those who are raging against us today will see the truth, and be set free from their wrath. That they'll learn to love. And let's show them what that love looks like.
God, thank You for already winning over the raging nations. Please help us love our enemies.
