Today in the One Year Bible we read from Matthew 22:1-33. Jesus teaches His listeners, and us, several things in response to people who were trying to trap Him by outsmarting Him. They didn't realize they were arguing with God.
This seems silly, but we try to do the same thing today. When God doesn't seem to want to give us something, we try to coax Him into it. We even use reverse psychology and pretend we DON'T want it so He'll give it to us. Of course, none of these things work because He's so much smarter than we are that we can't even begin to understand how much smarter He is.
So instead, let's trust Him to know what's best for us and follow His plan for our lives.
God, thank You for being so much smarter than we are. Help us trust Your plan.
