Today in the One Year Bible we read from Matthew 22:24-23:12. Jesus tells us that we should do what the religious leaders say, but don't follow their example. Seems strange, right? Why do what they say when they're giving us a bad example?
Well, the same instruction goes today. We have religious leaders (out of charity I won't name them) who don't live godly lives, but they DO share the truth in their teachings. So many people stop going to church because they don't like the preacher or the teacher at that church. Don't let the actions of a bad teacher keep you from God! Listen to the truth, even if it comes from someone who doesn't seem to get it.
God, thanks for giving us the truth, even if it comes through bad examples.
