Today in the One Year Bible we read from Matthew 24:1-28. Jesus is talking about the end times. He makes it clear that we should live ready for it to come, but that we won't know when it's coming.
That's just as true today as it was then. We should live every day like the world was ending tomorrow. Ready to go to heaven, prayed up, having treated everyone with kindness and love. But we shouldn't expect the end to come on any certain day, no matter if a book or magazine says it's time. Live like the end is near, but don't be afraid.
God, thanks for teaching us how to live expectantly but not in fear.
