Radical Trust: One Year Bible Reading for May 30

Today we read these verses in the One Year Bible:

2 Samuel 15:23-16:23
John 18:25-19:22
Psalm 119:113-128
Proverbs 16:10-11

Let's look at Samuel. The writer says something profound about what King David did. It says he said, "Let God do to me whatever seems good to Him." That's profound trust, isn't it?

And sometimes we have to have radical trust in God. When we hear about 14 children being shot by a deranged kid with a rifle, we have to have radical trust that God will bring good out of that situation. When we get the dreaded diagnosis of cancer, we have to have radical trust that God will take care of us and our loved ones. When little girls are sold or stolen into human trafficking, it's hard - but we must trust God in a radical way to take care of them and to bring justice to the world.

He is worthy of that trust. Let's strive to give it to Him.

God, thanks for teaching us radical trust. Help us to exercise it.
