Don't Be Surprised! : One Year Bible Reading for April 8

 Today we read from these verses in the One Year Bible:

Deuteronomy 32:28-52
Luke 12:35-59
Psalm 78:56-64
Proverbs 12:24

Let's look at Luke. Jesus tells us to be ready! He says that we don't know when our time will come. In one way, this means we don't know when He will return. Could be tomorrow, could be 1000 years from now (so don't believe anyone who says they know! We can't know!) But it also means that we can die at any moment. A plane could crash into your house right now and you'd be headed toward your eternal destination. 

So do good all the time! Now, I realize that's easier said than done. It's hard to be good always. We mess up. We sin. We make mistakes. We get angry and yell at people. But try to repent and get things right each day, rather than letting it build up and get worse. 

You never know when it might be too late.

God, thanks for reminding us to always be ready to meet You.
