The Spouse God Wants You to Be: One Year Bible Reading for March 29

 Today in the One Year Bible, we read these verses:

Deuteronomy 11:1-12:32
Luke 8:22-39
Psalm 70:1-5
Proverbs 12:4

Let's look at the proverb. It really graphically describes the difference between the spouse God wants us to be and the opposite of that. A good wife, it says, is "her husband's crown", while a bad wife is like decay in his bones.

Now, you might not be called to marriage. If not, then just pray for your friends that they will follow this teaching. But for the rest of you - this proverb lets us know how we need to be treating the person we're married to. We need to become their "crown". And it's popular today to call your husband your "king" or your wife your "queen", so this fits into today's culture pretty well. The opposite is that you become a decay in their bones, preventing them from doing what they were made to do. 

Are you making your spouse a king or queen? Or are you dragging them down from what God wants them to be? If you're married, your calling in LIFE is to help your spouse to become who God made them to be. Are you helping them?

God, thanks for teaching us what You expect us to do when we're married.
