Let's look at Deuteronomy. We are told several times that no matter WHO tries to talk us into worshipping some other god besides the One True God, we should not follow them.
Today, we USUALLY don't have other people trying to talk us into worshipping other gods. Today, people try to make gods of things - their career, their money, their family, their happiness - and then try to convince us that we should live for those things instead of for God.
But the response is the same. Ignore them. And TEACH them who the Only One is that deserves our worship.
God, thanks for giving us an advanced warning of what to do when people try to lure us away from You.
