Today we read from the following verses in the One Year Bible:
Numbers 14:1-15:16
Mark 14:53-72
Psalm 53:1-6
Proverbs 11:4
Let's look at Mark. We see that Jesus is arrested and asked a bunch of questions. He publicly states that He is, in fact, the Messiah, and that "you" will see Him seated beside God, and coming again on the clouds. He is then spit on and beaten, while His disciples desert Him.
You would THINK that this would be a disaster. That this is a dark moment in history. But this is actually God's plan. This is what Jesus knew would happen, and it was in fact what He deliberately CAUSED to happen by provoking the authorities. We will watch in the coming readings as He is tortured and killed. This, too, is all part of His plan.
Now take a step back and look at YOUR life. Have you suffered lately? Things not go as you thought? Have there been some tears? Well, God is working in YOUR situation just as He was working in the seeming darkness of Jesus's last week. Trust Him to work good from YOUR life, just as He worked the greatest good ever done in the passion of Christ.
God, thanks for being so amazing that You turn even the worst things into something awesome.
