Some Really Good News: The One Year Bible Reading for February 28

Today in the One Year Bible, we read the following verses:

Leviticus 22:17-23:44
Mark 9:30-10:12
Psalm 44:1-8
Proverbs 10:19

Let's look at Psalm 44. First, notice I'm not saying much about Leviticus as we do these blogs. That's the beauty of the One Year Bible. There are times that the Old Testament can be really dry. Just lists of names, or archaic laws that we no longer follow. So on those days, you have a reading from the New Testament, and a Psalm and a Proverb to keep things interesting.

In Psalm 44, we are thanking God for taking care of Israel as they journeyed to the holy land. We're being told that God took care of them because He loved them. And that brings me to something that kind of hit me tonight. Have you ever heard someone say "I'd rather rule in hell than serve in heaven!" Well, the first misconception there is that they're gonna be ruling in hell. That's not what happens there. Even the devil and his demons don't rule hell. Hell is designed to punish THEM (Satan and the other fallen angels) and also anyone whose name isn't found in the Lamb's Book of Life.

But think about this verse "At the name of Jesus, every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord." (Philippians 2:9-11) Think about what that means. EVERYONE will bow their knee and confess that He is Lord.

I recommend doing it now and receiving the rewards that go with doing it early, rather than being forced to do it later.

God, thanks for the good news that everyone will eventually praise You.
