Blessed (St) Marguerite Rutan: What a Faith!

Today we read about an amazing woman named Marguerite Rutan from France. She was very serious about her faith even as a young girl. She became a religious sister at a young age and two of her biological sisters joined her! But to her dismay, they both died at a young age.

She went on to help orphans and deserted widows. She helped many people until she was falsely accused during the French revolution. She was given the chance to renounce her Catholic faith, and when she (of course) refused, she was guillotined. What an amazing faith!

There is tremendous persecution of Christians going on around the world today. Please say a prayer for them, AND that you and I will have the courage and faith of Bl Marguerite Rutan if the time comes that we face that same ultimate test.

God, thanks for the great inspiration of this wonderful martyr. Bl Marguerite Rutan, pray for us.

ps you can read more about her here.

pps I put (St) in parentheses because even though she hasn't yet been recognized by the church as a saint, she was a martyr so.... pretty much instant saint! ;)
