Today in the One Year Bible, we read from Acts 1:1-26. Luke tells us that Jesus continued to teach the disciples after He went to heaven - by way of the Holy Spirit. And that spirit continues to teach us today.
How can you "hear" it? Well, some people have actually heard Him audibly. But most of the time He speaks into your thoughts. He tells you to love your family, or help your neighbor, or give to your church. He prompts you to do good things that you might not think to do on your own.
If you want to strengthen your "ear" so that you can "hear" Him better, read the Bible and read the lives of saints. When you get used to what He "sounds like", you'll start to recognize His voice in your own life when He speaks.
God, thanks for speaking to us... and teaching us to listen.
