with God all things are possible

Today in the One Year Bible, we read from John 6:1-21. We're familiar with this story. There's a huge crowd following Jesus... probably around 10,000 people or more. The Bible says there were 5,000 men, and there were probably more women and children than men. And the disciples are thinking they need to send these people away to get some food. But Jesus has other plans. He takes the little bit that they have (five loaves and two fish that some young boy happens to have) and meets the need they see before them.

He does the same thing in your life, you know. You look at the talents you have, the abilities and the strengths in your personality, and then you look at the needs of the world, and you see that there is absolutely no way that your gifts are going to meet those needs.

But one of the best verses in the entire Bible is the one that says, "With God, all things are possible."

He will take your gifts and meet those needs. And you will be amazed to see it happen.

Just trust Him.

God, thanks for using our little gifts to meet great big needs. Help us to trust You.
