the dead will hear His voice

Today in the One Year Bible, we read from John 5:24-47. Jesus tells us very plainly that at the end of time, those who are dead will hear His voice and will come to everlasting life. The picture above is just something funny. But the serious message is that one day we will all hear His voice and will rise from the dead. And then we will receive the reward for the things we've done for Him, and all the stuff we did selfishly will burn up in the flames.

That resets your priorities for the day, doesn't it? What will you do today that you might get rewarded for on that day when you hear His voice and rise again?

God, thanks for telling us so clearly that we will hear Your voice and rise from the dead. Help us live our lives so that we see a great reward on that day.
