Today we begin my favorite book of the Bible in the One Year Bible. It's the gospel of John. We read verses 1 through 28 of the first chapter. The language is beautiful, and very richly theological. And John tells us that Jesus is the light of the world, and that light can never be extinguished, no matter how dark is the darkness.
So don't be afraid. In this world we will have troubles. Jesus told us so. But the darkness will NEVER extinguish the light. And that light will shine in your life. It will be hard sometimes. But the light will always win. You never have to fear that the darkness will win. It can't.
Hold on, and pray, and have faith. Be full of His confidence. His light will shine forever.
God, thanks for giving us the hope that Your light will always shine and illumine our lives.
