Today we read from the One Year Bible in John 10:1-21. And Jesus makes it very clear what our choice is.
The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. He wants to take away everything important to you. He wants to kill you and those you love. He wants to destroy your life and your hope. He hates you.
Jesus is the good shepherd. He comes to bring us life. And not just any life, but fulfilling, lasting, eternal, joyful life. He comes to bring us real life.
We have this choice every moment of our lives. Who will we choose to serve? Will we follow our selfishness and our greed? Will we fall into our pride? And let the enemy destroy us?
Or will we choose to follow the giver of eternal life? Will we humble ourselves and learn to be kind and gentle and true to those in our lives? Will we feed His sheep?
Today you get to choose. Choose wisely!
God, please help us to choose Your life, and turn away from the thief.
