He hears you

Today in the One Year Bible, we read from Psalms 116:1-9. In it, the Psalmist declares that he will always pray to God as long as he has breath, because God listens to him.

God listens to you, too. It may not seem like it. It might be that you've been praying for a long time. You might have been faithfully asking for something that you believe to be His will for you for years. And God reminds us in the Bible that He is not slow in keeping His promises as we understand slowness. Instead, He is patient, and kind in His patience. We wait for Him because He is doing everything in the right time. And when we wait for Him, we are blessed. We mount up with wings as eagles, run without growing weary, and walk without fainting. It is a very good thing to wait for God.

It doesn't always feel like it. It can be hard, waiting a long time for something that you want very badly. But take courage. He hears you. And He will answer you.

God, thank You for hearing us. Help us to wait for you.
