don't forget

We have two different stories of forgetting today in our readings. CLICK HERE for the OT reading and CLICK HERE for the NT reading. CLICK HERE for the other guy.

So we continue on the journey of Joseph today. We see him flourishing under God's blessings, but being wronged by more humans. And when he helps the cup bearer, he's promptly forgotten.

But, Joseph is wise. When the time comes for him to interpret the dream for Pharaoh, he remembers who can interpret dreams and who can't. He doesn't say, "Oh sure. I can tell you what it means. I'm awesome." Instead, he remembers God. He says, "I can't. But God can."

That's an important bit of wisdom for us. We can't. God can. As long as we remember how incapable we are without Him (apart from Me, you can do nothing, He tells us in the gospels), we correctly remember what we CAN do with Him (with God all things are possible.)

So the next time you face a challenge, remember. You can't. But God can. As long as you're with Him, you can do anything.

God, thanks for reminding us to remain in You.
