the sharpest weapon

Today's readings: Ezekiel 39:1-40:27, James 2:18-3:18, Psalm 118:1-18, Proverbs 28:2

James tells us many important things today, mostly about showing our faith by doing good things. But the part that really jumped out to me seemed to be in response to the arguing going on all over the world right now about what to do about various things, especially ISIS and refugees.

James says "The wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds... those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness."

Let's be kind to one another. Let's lift each other up, and be gentle. Let's yield to one another. Let's love each other.

God, thank you for the reminder to be kind. Please put your kindness and love in our hearts.

Yes, when we think with our head it "seems" logical to protector ourselves but when we think with our heart which is where God lives in us we can focus on helping others.

That is the message I gave heard when I pray for several days now . A simple act of kindness towards all removes the ego and the heart stays soft .
