back to life

Today's reading: Ezekiel 37:1-38:23, James 1:19-2:17, Psalm 117:1-2, Proverbs 28:1

Good stuff in all of our readings tonight! In the OT reading, we see God bringing a valley full of bones back to life. This is an interesting foretaste of the resurrection that we will all experience one day - it's really interesting to read about it happening.

James talks about how we need to show our faith by our actions. It's not enough to SAY you believe in God... you need to do something about it. That's how God brings our dry bones back to life without our lifetime.

Psalm 117 is the shortest chapter in the Bible. Just two verses. And they're profound! Praise God, they say. He is faithful every day. His unfailing love for us is powerful. God is awesome. Praise Him!

And the proverb tells us that the godly are as bold as lions. Why? Because they don't fear death. They know that the God from the Ezekiel reading will bring their dry bones back to life one day, and that makes us strong and courageous as lions.

Thank You, God, for bringing our dry bones back to life... both in the life, and after it.
