jabba is a daddy?

so i went into the clone wars with reallllly low expectations.

i knew it would be cheesy. i expected the animation and fx to be pretty good. i expected lame dialogue. i didn't know if the story would be good or not.

i largely got what i expected. the dialogue was uber cheesy. the animation and fx were really well done - better, i thought, than the live action movies, which had scenes so full of digital movement that it overwhelmed the viewer and made it difficult to enjoy the action.

the story was very predictable and mostly lame. for some reason "i just KNOW they're gonna get that shield down in time!" sounded a little too familiar...

but the characters were really well done. it was kinda nice to pal around with the pre-darthed anakin. and his ... well, the newest member of the main cast (i won't spoil this for you) was, i thought, pretty amusing.

all in all - i'm glad i saw it on the big screen - definitely a spectacle that won't come across as well on the little screen - but not worth $9 if you can see it at a cheap matinee.
