Today in the One Year Bible we read from Matthew 2:13-3:6. St Joseph is kind of the main character here. God warns him with angels in dreams two times to pick up his family and move. And he does it immediately. I'm in the process of moving myself right now, and it's a slow process. Probably because I have too much stuff, and God has been telling me to sell what I have, give the money to the poor, and follow Him. So that's what I'm working towards.
But Joseph picked up and moved right away, the same day. And it's a good thing he did because it saved the lives of his wife and son, the savior of the world.
Joseph is never recorded saying a single word in the Bible. But he plays a crucial role in saving the world, just by doing what God told him to.
Let's try to be more like St Joseph this year. Talk less about what we're going to do, and just do what God tells us to.
God, thanks for teaching us to talk less and obey more.
