worthy of eternal life

We read these verses today in the One Year Bible:

2 Kings 1:1-2:25
Acts 13:42-14:7
Psalm 139:1-24
Proverbs 17:19-21

Peter and his companions are sharing the gospel with the people, beginning with the Jewish people and then the gentiles. Many of the Jewish people reject the gospel and plot to kill Peter.

Peter says they have chosen to be unworthy of eternal life, and so the gentiles have taken their place. 

Are you worthy of eternal life? Or will you let pride steal it from you? Just humbly pray and ask Him to save you. He'll show you how. 

God, thanks for saving us from ourselves... even if we don't think we're worthy of eternal life.
