with tears

We read these verses today in the One Year Bible:

2 Kings 17:1-18:12
Acts 20:1-38
Psalm 148:1-14
Proverbs 18:6-7

Peter is telling the people that for three years he's been sharing the gospel with them, with tears. That's how much he cared about his listeners. He didn't just throw the facts at them, he wept, knowing that some would fall away. 

When you and I tell people about Jesus, we should care about them, too. Not just drop the facts and run, but tell them the truth  in love, and help them to accept the truth even when it's difficult. 

God, thanks for calling us to care about those who hear the gospel like You care about them.
