making a house for God

In the One Year Bible reading for today, we read these verses:

1 KINGS 7:1-51
ACTS 7:30-50
PSALM 128:1-6
PROVERBS 16:31-33

In Acts, Stephen is giving a very powerful message, tracing the works of God from the early Old Testament until the time of Jesus. He talks about Solomon building a temple for God.

And we do that too. We make a place for God to live in, and we expect Him to stay there. We get uncomfortable when He takes over OTHER parts of our lives. And it terrifies us to realize that He means to live in EVERY part of our lives... even the parts we're not too proud of.

So don't try to put God in a box. He's way too big for that. He wants all of you, your entire life. And you'll be glad when He has it. 

God, thanks for not letting us put you in a little box.
