In the One Year Bible reading for today, we see these verses:
2 SAMUEL 22:1-23:23
ACTS 2:1-47
PSALM 122:1-9
PROVERBS 16:19-20
ACTS 2:1-47
PSALM 122:1-9
PROVERBS 16:19-20
In the book of Acts, we read about the early church. One thing you'll notice as you read today's passage is that God brings His people together. That's the opposite of what the enemy does, who scatters us to try to do it all on our own. If you pay attention as you read today's selection, the word "together" is used over and over.
Yes, God does work with us individually, too. He wants you to pray without ceasing, so you should be praying while you're alone as well as with other followers of Jesus. You should read your Bible on your own, too. But don't hesitate to ask other Christians to help you understand what it says.
But God blesses us and teaches us as a church. As a group. He draws us together so we can use our complementary gifts to benefit one another.
So go to church! Don't stay away! God will do great things in your life through other believers.
God, thank You for bringing us together to learn from You.
