we will all rise

 Today we read these verses in the One Year Bible:

1 Samuel 2:22-4:22
John 5:24-47
Psalm 106:1-12
Proverbs 14:30-31

In John, Jesus is telling us some very important things. We will ALL rise from the dead when we hear His voice. Those of us who know Him and love Him and have done good in our lives will rise to live. Those who do not know Him or love Him and have done evil will rise to be condemned. 

It's important right NOW to decide. Get to know Jesus, learn to love Him, and do the good work that He puts in your heart to do. Then when you rise from the dead, it will be to eternal life with Him.

You don't want the alternative.

God, thanks for teaching us clearly that we need to love Jesus and do Your will in order to spend eternity in heaven with You.
